"U.S. gets 'F' on bioterror response"

http://www.cnn.com/2010/POLITICS/01/26/security.report.card/index.html

I thought this was fairly surprising. All the wiretapping and unjust imprisonment and yet we could be gassed any day now. In any case, I wonder if this stuff is going to get acted on.
Overall an interesting look at my country's vulnerabilities and strengths. And yes, the terrorists probably think so too.

I'm not losing a wink of sleep over this.  The most sophisticated attack they ever pulled involved three airplanes.  The second most sophisticated involved a speedboat full of c4.  We aren't dealing with mad scientists here.  I think american's irrational fears are a far bigger threat to us then the objects of those fears.

Yeah, but the fact that we rely on little but that fact is a bit disturbing.

I gotta ask something...

...who would dare do such a thing? I mean, knowing how strong the US is, it's like a deterrent effect... why else has no atomic bomb went off since like forever?

It's gonna be awhile. I'm still a college junior and MD/PhD programs take like 8 years.

So far this thread has lightly entertained the idea that policies like Guantanamo's prisons and mutually assured destruction are effective and useful.  I encourage its continuation, for this amuses me.

Relevent link.
