Un-bad news out of china

While China is being far from aggressive about dealing with climate change, they are actually putting their money where their mouth is by cracking down on the local authorities.

Of course, far from aggressive may be a bit of an understatement.  A 45% reduction in carbon emissions per GDP unit is still an increase of around 75% total when done over 15 years where you average 8% growth (and china's growth may very well be higher then that.)

Still, it's good to see and it's a refreshing change of pace from the zero sum diplomatic mindset that they've used in other international issues like Iranian and North Korean sanctions or exchange rate manipulation.

China is turning out to be a leader in green technology production. Keep that in mind.

It's not like the west bothered with that stuff when they were industrializing.




You know why the price of solar panels fell big time? Because china started mass producing them.

The price of solar panels has been steadily declining for 40 years.  Attributing that to a change that happened in the past five years is just fucking ignorant.
