I'm pretty sure that if out of the blue Allison told Andy that he should blow up the forums and kill minorities, he wouldn't really do that, and neither would I. Also Allison wouldn't do that. She's Mormon.
I'm pretty sure that if she told me that she felt uncomfortable with sexual comments, I'd write an announcement about it too and so would you, dudes. and so would you.

Well, first things first, that "one person" was right about there being too much talk of sexuality, and was justified in telling an administrator that it was making her uncomfortable that those comments were being directed at her even though she on several occasions made it obvious that she didn't wish to recieve them. Note that she is an administrator and could do whatever she wished on the matter, but instead went to the administrator.
I also don't think it's very effective to just wait for more complaints, either. It's not the number of complaints, but the number of those who incited the complaints. And I will agree that even though JAC is just one person, (mind you, I complained about the sexuality too,) there were more than one person who bothered her, and not thinking about how she would react. Andy didn't "change something about the forum's conduct", he merely stated what was happening, who was bothered by it, a reason it shouldn't happen, etc. He never instated some solid rule that saying "penis" is now illegal in Cojawfeeland.
I'm sorry for responding too in-depth to such a simple statement, but changing a group's conduct towards a victim simply because of that one victim's feelings is entirely justified depending on what is being discussed. A class of students who all consensually agree that raping their classmate is right, even though that one classmate disagrees, doesn't mean we should wait around for the group to decide that it is wrong, or wait for more people to get raped. Not that we would rape, but it's just the principle of the thing.
Anyway, whatevs. I agree with Andy. (ps: i go to /b/, but not so much anymore, and i though i enjoy free speech, sometimes i think some of them really are stupid, not just pretending to be stupid.)
